A rum still is a piece of equipment used to produce rum. This equipment consists of three main components: a boiler, a condenser and a collection vessel. In the boiler, fermented sugarcane byproducts are heated until they produce steam that rises towards the condenser for cooling before dropping back down through to drip into a collection vessel as an alcohol-rich rum elixir! Eventually this process separates out any impurities while producing clear-tasting flavorful spirit!
Types of Rum Stills
Rum stills come in several distinct designs and functions. Pot stills, column stills, and reflux stills are among the more commonly found types.
